Questions and Answers
The workshop is designed to provide participants with limited practical experience with a systematic introduction to the examination of the thoracic and lumbar spine. The theoretical foundations are directly combined with practical demonstrations and supervised hands-on exercises.
Experienced practitioners will also benefit from the systematic approach to radiographic technique, standardization, error analysis, and expanding the diagnostic spectrum. In particular, the specialized projections, practical quality control, and joint analysis of participants’ own radiographs offer significant added value for experienced colleagues as well.
Registration for our workshops is handled through the website of our partner, VIDOCQ & Friends, and can be completed via the following link: https://vidocq-esc.com/vidocq-friends-tieraerzte/
The course fee is €1,300 gross. The workshops are held exclusively in German.
Yes, our veterinary continuing education courses are accredited by the ATF in accordance with § 10 of the ATF Statutes. The number of accredited continuing education hours or ATF hours is stated for each individual workshop date. Participants will receive their certificate of attendance at the venue upon successful completion of the course.
The X-ray systems required for the practical exercises are provided in cooperation with EXAMION, so you do not need to bring your own X-ray equipment. However, upon prior agreement, you are welcome to bring your own system to discuss individual technical questions and practical challenges in a targeted manner. You are also welcome to bring your own radiographs for joint analysis.
Suitable personal radiation protection equipment is required for participation in the practical sessions. Participants should bring:
- their own radiation protection apron, preferably with a lead equivalence of 0.5 mm
- their own thyroid shield
Further requirements will be communicated to participants in the organizational information provided before the workshop.
Yes, both the theoretical and practical sessions take place indoors at the respective equine clinic or event venue. The workshop can therefore generally be held regardless of the weather.
