New strategic partnership in medical technology

EXAMION secures innovative technology

The two medical technology companies EXAMION, based in Fellbach near Stuttgart, and AB-CT – Advanced Breast-CT –, based in Erlangen, seal the deal on a strategic partnership and establish their position in the German market for breast diagnostics by combining industry know-how and innovative technology.

Fellbach, October 1, 2020 – The hot summer in Germany was used effectively by the medical technology companies EXAMION GmbH and AB-CT – Advanced Breast-CT GmbH. The two companies have entered into a far-reaching strategic partnership, which includes EXAMION acquiring 20% of the shares of the Erlangen-based provider of diagnostic breast imaging solutions.

“We have decided to take this far-reaching step in order to combine the strengths of the conventional mammography products marketed by us with nu:view's innovative breast imaging process,” says Bernhard Schleicher, Managing Director of EXAMION GmbH, describing the benefits of the partnership for the customer.
Both companies are convinced that the special product mix will enable them to comprehensively serve radiology practices, medical care centers and clinics with an “everything from a single source” solution.

The dedicated computed tomography scanner for breast examinations developed by AB-CT ideally complements EXAMION's product range, as the nu:view allows the female breast to be examined in 3D without any painful compression.

EXAMION GmbH is a medical device company with a broad portfolio for digital radiography, including already established mammography products used in private practices, specialized medical care centers and clinics. AB-CT – Advanced Breast-CT GmbH is the developer and distributor of the innovative nu:view breast CT scanner which is not only technologically advanced but specifically stands for maximum patient comfort.

The two companies have already been working together efficiently for some time. The sales cooperation recently resulted in the installation of the nu:view in two radiology departments in Dortmund and Regensburg. Now the cooperation could be raised to the next level which brings an even better synergy of the processes as well as more effectiveness for customers. “In the future, our joint customers will be able to benefit from EXAMION's extensive sales expertise as well as the service locations available throughout Germany, while at the same time taking advantage of AB-CT's high level of innovation,” Bernhard Schleicher emphasizes.

In addition, EXAMION wants to be able to make an attractive offer in terms of the overall product portfolio to the recently acquired specialized customer base from the hospital market that was added through the acquisition of Carestream's service business.
